Lack of Commitment

Have you ever been involved with a project, charity, school, or not for profit and heard these before while trying to rally your cause or raise money?

  1. I want it to work.
  2. I want it to succeed.
  3. I support your cause.
  4. We support great education.
  5. We think it is great.
  6. Its important.

These answers are typically followed up by no actual action on their part. No actual commitment. Just the peace of mind that they let you know they support you.

The same is true when we talk about security. Everyone supports our fight for more secure systems. But no real commitment.  Ask them to stay late or come in early or enter an extra password and they disappear. They only support it in theory.
